In a Pickle Parrot Shop is a family owned business started from an ever growing interest in birds! We have had pet birds for years and in 2002 we began keeping a few breeding pairs. In 2004, we took the name "In a Pickle Aviary," named after our Quaker Parrot, Pickle. We started off breeding lovebirds and cockatiels. We gradually moved into conures and finally into our specialty, the African Grey! In recent years we have also taken interest in macaws and have several producing pairs of them as well from the little Hahns . We found great success in raising our babies and we developed a large network of bird friends and customers, not only locally but all across the country. In 2010 we opened "In a Pickle Parrot Shop" in response to the demand of our customers for a local place to find the supplies and food that they needed for the babies they purchased from us. In 2012 we moved the store to a larger location, nearly tripling in size!
In the Beginning...
Today... when you visit the store you are likely to run into either Jeani and Paul, the mother/son team behind the whole operation! We are still very much a family affair! Jeani is a retired litigation paralegal and Paul has recently finished his masters degree, both are now fully devoted to the store! When Jeani and Paul are not in, the store's assistant manager Trish is here to help you along with the rest of our fantastic staff who are all great with birds and knowledgable about the birds and products!
